After some quiet deliberations and speculation, AMC and Sony Pictures announced in a joint statement today that their soon-ending drama series 'Breaking Bad' will indeed spin-off. 'Better Call Saul', the working title, is expected to star Bob Odenkirk, who has played the comically relieving, criminally competent lawyer on Vince Gilligan's hit series for several seasons. Gilligan is said to be heading the project along with writer/producer Peter Gould. According to sources, the show will serve as a prequel to Saul Goodman's character, showing his dealings before meeting the infamous Walter White.
What do you think? Spin-offs can be tricky, and typically unsuccessful. Are you looking forward to seeing Saul Goodman as the lead in his own series? Check out some tweet reactions below.
Better Call Saul better get to the root of his laser-tag obsession or I don't want it.

Im pretty pumped for the Saul Goodman spinoff… #BetterCallSaul are Kuby and Huell going to be in it too? That would be awesome

You can't have the same expectations for #BetterCallSaul as for #BreakingBad tho

Cool that AMC has picked up 'Better Call Saul'! I really like that it will be a prequel... there are so many possible backstories.
